With Christmas just one week away and cooler temperatures, many of us are wondering if we will get a white Christmas this year.
Well, each year, the National Climatic Data Center issues a report predicting the probability of at least an inch of snow being on the ground on Christmas day in the lower 48 states. Below is a map with their snowfall predictions.
Minnesota, Maine, Upstate New York, the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania and West Virginia, Idaho, and of course the Rockies and the Sierra Nevada Mountains may most likely see a white Christmas as they have in the past.
While the map shows the climatical probability of a white Christmas, the actual conditions this year may vary widely from these probabilities due to uncertain weather patterns.
Until next time, happy trails!
Oh and get excited about our winter seminar coming up in January…Hopefully the snow will be melted!
